I want to find a job close to where I live, can Mycare help with that?
Mycare is designed to do exactly that. We know finding work close to home is convenient and just makes sense because the costs of petrol or public transport can really add up.
- Find the work you love
Set up a profile with the hours and services you offer and search locally for jobs. - Manage your bookings
It’s easy to keep track of your client visits and know exactly what support they need. - Get paid for your work
Don’t worry about being owed money. Mycare makes sure your clients pay for your bookings each week.
Why do workers need to use a smartphone?
We encourage all workers to have a smartphone. Workers use a smartphone to accept visit bookings, message/reply to clients, submit visits and view their profile information. Because workers are typically based at and between client homes during their working day, this technology helps them to communicate on the move.

If I search for work at Mycare, how important is my profile?
Your profile is really important! It showcases your skills, experience, training, and the kind of services you can offer. You need to upload a photo and create a profile that will help potential clients get to know you a bit. We encourage all workers to present themselves in a clear and professional way. Your profile also displays the Trust & Safety verifications you have completed, including a free criminal convictions check and confirmation of your identity so people searching for help can be assured they are dealing with a real person.
Who hires me if I find work at Mycare?
Mycare is not an employer. We are an online marketplace to help you find clients and work. You and your client(s) will agree schedules and rates of pay. This could vary from client to client. Some jobs might be casual/one-off jobs, or they might need you for a few months. You decide.
What will I be paid?
You will negotiate with the client, or their family, your rate of pay and this will be stated in the agreement. You will be paid this rate minus 10% (Withholding Tax) on an ongoing basis for the duration of the agreement. You will also pay a small Mycare service fee.
When will I get paid?
Visits approved by 11.59pm on a Monday night will be included in the next payment run. Mycare processes payments to workers once a week on a Tuesday. Workers will receive their payment by Wednesday or Thursday morning, depending on how quickly your bank processes payments.
How will I get paid for the work I do for clients?
Mycare helps clients to pay their workers safely and securely. You will need to provide your IRD number and bank account number so we can process payments from your client to you. Your details are held securely, and we will not share these details.
Each time you visit your client, you will need to log in to say the visit has been completed. Your client will review and approve your visits each week.
We will process tax payments to the IRD on your behalf – this is calculated at 10% of your hourly or overnight rate.
What if I only want to offer overnight or live-in services? Or to offer just one kind of service, like transport to appointments, or help around the home?
Great! Your Mycare profile can make this clear, and it will then be easy for people in your community to learn about what you’re offering, and make contact if they’re interested. You can also search for specific types of jobs when you look for work at Mycare.
