A coffee with Caitlin

What is your role at Mycare?
I am the Community Engagement Coordinator. I love my job because of the variety of people I get to work with and the tasks I get to do. I work across a few exciting parts of the Mycare realm including event management, getting out in the field and meeting people, content writing and taking part in some coaching programs with our users.
What drew you to work here?
I studied health promotion and psychology at University and only graduated last year in 2017! I initially aimed to head into service design in the realm of mental health. I picked up some part time work at Mycare whilst studying to gain wider experience in other areas of the health sector and I instantly felt connected to the Mycare ethos – to empower and enable people to live meaningful lives.
What does a great day look like?
A great work day would be listening and learning from the people we are wanting to be of service to – gaining the insights to go and create services that work best with their lives. I love to talk, so it is definitely getting out in the field and learning from others.
A great weekend day would be getting up early, having a nice coffee at a café with a friend. Taking my dog for a walk in the bush or at a beach and spending the afternoon doing activities with friends or family. Topping the night off with either movies or a dinner with friends.
What is the most important thing you would like people to know about Mycare?
That Mycare is constantly evolving! We are here to continue to be of service to you. We are always open to new ideas, conversations, partnerships and ways we can improve the way we operate so that we can serve you best.
What is the most exciting project that you are working on?
Mycare experiences - Mycare has developed Experiences to provide users with access to meaningful and fun activities in their local community. Experiences will be launching soon so keep an eye out!
What hobbies do you have?
I love to dance! I used to perform and compete in Jazz only recently stopping due to time constraints in June 2017. I run a lot with my dog and take part in half marathons and running events with my dad, he’s 51 and beats me!!! Like many others in the Mycare office I take part in consuming large quantities of Pic's peanut butter – it is definitely a hobby. You can often catch me in the middle of a Netflix binge or with my head stuck in a book that’s set anywhere between the years 1500-1900. I love the ocean, I am always trying to get out wakeboarding or swimming. I have high energy so anything with a bit of an adrenaline kick makes for the perfect weekend activity.
