Social media is a highly powerful marketing tool, and one of the best tools to use for self-promotion is Facebook - it’s free!

Sharing your Mycare profile to Facebook
You may already use Facebook to stay in touch with friends and family, find long-lost mates and share photos and videos. If you don't use Facebook already for personal reasons we recommend signing up for your business purposes.
Create a profile using your email address, then add people you know in real life. Type the name of the person you’re looking for into the search bar. Click on their profile, then send the request. If you receive a friend request, you can choose to accept or decline.
On Facebook, you’ll be able to read your ‘newsfeed’, which is constantly updated with photos and comments you and your friends ‘post’, plus any other news people ‘share’. Comments or photos you post appear in the newsfeed and on your profile page or ‘timeline’. You and your friends can ‘like’ each other’s posts and comment on them too – it’s an online conversation.
The first way to market yourself on Facebook is to existing networks. You can now ‘share’ your Mycare profile to your newsfeed. Look for the share button on the right hand side of your profile.

The
The Facebook post will automatically add the start of your profile description - you can also add a message to the post. Sharing your Mycare profile to your Facebook profile shows your established networks that you are looking for clients. It is a simple, free way to get the word out about your services as your ‘friends’ can this pass your message on to people they think may need some help around the home.
Sharing your services to the wider community on Facebook
You can also ‘follow’ groups or organisations you’re interested in to find out about events. Look for local Facebook groups that you could share your services in. Type your city or suburb into the search bar and select groups from the options bar.

You can share a link to your profile in these groups. Find the share button on your Mycare profile (just as you do for sharing to Facebook) and select link. You will then have a link copied that you can paste into a post in the group. Write a wee blurb about yourself to accompany the link.
For example:
“Hi everyone, I am a local Mycare worker offering household help, transport and companionship. I am looking for 5-10 hours a week. I live in the local area. I have several years of support worker experience. You can read more about my personality, experience and qualifications on my Mycare profile linked below.” - Then paste your copied profile link.
