Gay is a client that uses Mycare to find workers specific to her needs, which includes helping her and her mobility dog! We asked her a few questions on how she has used Mycare and her experience with finding care workers.
What has your experience in the healthcare industry been like before coming to Mycare?
I’ve always found it difficult to find workers because I didn’t know where to look. I’ve found many of my workers in the past through them working for my friends.
How has your experience been using Mycare?
My experience has been life changing. I felt lost trying to support myself and find a worker that could support me and have the skill set to provide care and support for my mobility dog too. After finding Mycare, I’ve felt supported through the whole process of finding a worker and my expectations have been far surpassed.
I’m so happy to have found Mycare because of this.
Has Mycare made it easier for you to find appropriate workers for your specific caring needs?
Absolutely, I’ve been able to find workers myself through the platform as well as having the Mycare team support by looking for workers too. Together, we’ve found a great worker and I’m over the moon with the outcome.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your experiences with Mycare, or advice to other people looking for help and support?
The entire experience has been fantastic. I was previously able-bodied, and have over time, lost my ability to be able to do some basic daily tasks. Which left me feeling in a vulnerable position.
To my delight, I’ve found my worker competent, confident, and caring. I can ask my worker to do different tasks and they can do that for me which is great!
To have found someone with humanity and a great sense of humour that takes pride in their work. Has allowed me to keep my independence and live a more fulfilling life.
