Are workers insured?
For the benefit of our community, Mycare has arranged insurance through Vero Insurance. The insurance policy covers Professional Indemnity and Public Liability. For each hour of work that a worker is paid through Mycare, workers have the benefit of the following insurance with Vero Liability:
- Public liability - up to $1,000,000 per claim
- Professional indemnity cover – up to $1,000,000 of annual aggregate cover
For all claims, there is an excess of $1000.

Public Liability Insurance protects you in the event that accidents occur, and a claim is subsequently made against you.
Insurance protection for claims for breach of professional duty or negligence resulting in financial loss.
Note: The acceptance of each claim is up to the insurer and Mycare cannot 100% guarantee that the claim will be approved.
When/how can claims be made?
Your worker can make a claim as long as there is a signed contract and bookings in place on Mycare before the event happens.
If you think your worker needs to make a claim please call the Customer Engagement team at Mycare on 09 887 9777. They will be able to provide you with advice about what you will need to do.
